At Stitch and Bake, everything I do is about connection—to my family, my community, and the joy of creating something by hand. For me, baking, crochet, and running this creative business are a way of coping, living through joyful grief, and honoring the exceptionally strong people who came before me.

My journey is deeply rooted in the legacy of my late parents, who took massive chances despite incredible struggles to survive and care for their families. My mom was a true trailblazer. She worked as a single mother and the very first female bus driver in an era when that was completely unheard of—even purchasing her own home all on her own. She was so far ahead of her time, fiercely teaching acceptance and tolerance to all, and instilling in me the absolute belief that I could do anything. My father came to this country without being fluent in English, yet possessed the grit to start several businesses dedicated to lifting up and supporting other Latino families—including opening the very first movie theater in my hometown that ran only Spanish-speaking movies.

That same entrepreneurial heart, resilience, and love of community drive my kitchen today. My baking started with a simple goal: to craft the absolute best milk bread cinnamon rolls for the people I love. Today, those signature, ultra-soft rolls anchor my monthly treat boxes, featuring a rotating lineup of seasonal baked goods—from crisp, flavor-infused biscotti to comforting quick breads. Each box brings a little extra warmth to front porch pickups and bustling weekend markets.

My fiber art connects me directly to my late aunt, who first put a crochet hook in my 

hand. While I still love creating the occasional cute crocheted stuffy, simple dishcloth, vintage coin purse, or warm scarf, my absolute truest sense of creativity comes alive when I am working on fiber art hangings and exploring rich textures. I treat yarn like paint—experimenting with embroidery, complex beadwork, and rich mosaic patterns to create distinctive, tactile wall pieces.

At a market during my first season, a visitor stopped by my booth and said, "Everything here just feels like love." This business is my love letter to my parents' resilience, my mom's boundary-breaking strength, my dad's community-building heart, and my aunt's creativity—and that is exactly what I hope to share with you.
